# NFT Fractionalization

NFT Fractionization involves locking an NFT in an xFRAC wallet to redeem its corresponding rToken. This process locks an NFT and issues a rToken. Fractionization begins when a rToken Exchange Fee is sent to the xFRAC Wallet, whose Rippled scripts will read the transaction upon deposit. The xFRAC wallet will send an NFT Buy order in rToken to the user’s wallet as a response to the transaction.

Generally, responding to the order sent completes the Fractioning process on the xFRAC Platform.
